Consumers more likely to buy online with tablets
Retailers have found consumers who browse their Web sites using tablets are much more likely to make purchases online, Wall Street Journal reported.
This discovery is making retailers focus on tablets heading into the holiday season.
Tablets account for a small percentage of overall e-commerce, but the conversion rate, orders divided by total visits, is 4 percent or 5 percent for shoppers using tablets, compared to 3 percent for traditional PC users.
Consumers using tablets usually make larger purchases, retailers say, adding 10 percent to 20 percent more to the tab than PC or smartphone shoppers.
